Andrew Corsini (1302–1374)

Remembered on February 4, Andrew Corsini was a Carmelite friar and later bishop of Fiesole whose hidden devotion shaped public peace. Born into a prominent Florentine family, he was known in youth for restlessness and self-will. Yet the Lord brought him to repentance. Turning from vanity, he embraced the Carmelite way—prayer, fasting, and quiet obedience—learning that holiness is not a performance but a steady surrender of the heart.

His conversion shows the mercy of God toward those who return. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). Andrew’s later firmness was not harshness; it grew from humility, confession, and disciplined love.

Bishop of Fiesole
